"PROTEIN KILLS US". Fundación PKU. Cortometraje

La fenilcetonuria (del inglés phenylketonuria = PKU) es una enfermedad rara, hereditaria y sin cura. Cualquier alimento que contenga proteína debe ingerirse en cantidades extremadamente pequeñas y con gran precisión, ya que un mal cálculo puede provocar daños cerebrales irreversibles. Para que las personas que padecen la enfermedad, especialmente en niños y niñas, es casi vital disponer de un biosensor que pueda medir en tiempo real el nivel de proteína en sangre. Y este biosensor, no existe.

Para concienciar sobre el PKU y recaudar fondos con el objetivo final de desarrollar el biosensor, hemos llevado a cabo un cortometraje: "Protein Kills Us", una historia de ficción sobre una enfermedad real, cuyo lanzamiento se llevó a cabo en la última edición del Festival de Sitges. Any aliment that contains protein must be ingested in quantities extremely small and with great precision, because if poor calculated could cause irreversible brain damage. For people who suffer from the disease, especially in children, it is almost vital to have a biosensor that can measure in real time the level of protein in the blood. And this biosensor does not exist.

To raise awareness about the PKU and raise funds with the ultimate goal of developing the biosensor, we have made a short film: "Protein Kills Us", a fictional story about a real disease.
